The Story Behind

Critical

I wanted this piece to showcase a small sampling of the beauty we stand to lose if we continue this path of destruction to our oceans. While researching biodiversity loss, I faced the bleak reality that these stunning species are rapidly fading away at the hands of humans. Some specific marine life featured in this print are the critically endangered Siamese tigerfish and Nassau Grouper as well as Elkhorn and Pillar coral.

I have the sweetest memories of swimming among technicolor fish and coral on vacation, a highlight of every beach trip. As I think of future family vacations with my newborn nephew, I recognize the importance of doing everything in our power to keep these underwater communities alive and protected for generations to come.
