About the Artist
Yuji Oda
Yuji Oda, born in Tokyo in 1981, is a dynamic mural artist whose works transform public spaces into vibrant canvases. Drawing inspiration from the intricate lines of traditional woodblock prints, Oda skillfully blends line and surface configurations to create compelling visual narratives. His murals, found across Japan and internationally, reflect a continuous dialogue between drawn lines and material forms. Notable projects include murals for the Mural City Project Koenji, BCTION Magnet, and the ATAMI ART GRANT. Based between Yokosuka and Koenji, Oda's artistic practice extends to live painting and community-driven workshops, fostering a deep connection with the public.
Several issues are at play. The challenges confronting our oceans are intertwined and overlapping, which makes them even more difficult to address and places additional strain on marine species and habitats.
