Artist Statement
"I've been incredibly fortunate enough to work on a wide range of dream projects over the course of my career, but this feels like one of my most important assignments. It’s sobering to know that some of the animals I illustrated on this poster may not be around when my children are my age. To that end, it becomes critical that we preserve our oceans and their wildlife as best we can. I hope this poster finds many homes around the world and serves as a cherished reminder of the beauty and fragility of our planet. I’m honored to once again partner with PangeaSeed Foundation to help raise awareness for our oceanic wildlife."
Artist Bio
Tom Whalen is an American illustrator living in southeastern Pennsylvania. His work is instantly recognized for the bold, colorful graphic style that pulls influences from a wide variety of disciplines including comic books, vintage film posters, and classic graphic design. Tom has partnered with worldwide brands, including Disney, Coca-Cola, Lego, Toho, Marvel, and Hasbro, and his work can be found in toy aisles, theme parks, comic stands, and everywhere in between. When Tom isn’t drawing, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, daughter, and three cats.
