Artist Statement
"With a voracious appetite and over-consumption of plastic goods and littering these human products, all health on this planet is threatened. Ingesting microplastics while eating seafood is also to be considered as a potential impact of plastic pollution."
- Leon Keer
Artist Bio
Leon Keer is a world-leading artist in anamorphic art. He has executed commissions in Europe, The United States, Mexico, The United Arabic Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, and several Asian countries. His work on canvas and wooden panels are known for their 3d perceptual illusionary effect and have been presented at several art shows, galleries, and museums worldwide.
A message seems to be present in his work. Current issues are reviewed, such as current environmental concerns and the livability of this world. Leon Keer is constantly aware of the playfulness and beauty versus the degradation around him, a contrast that he expresses and amplifies in his work and which he uses as a metaphor for life.
His paintings reflect his thoughts, confronting the viewer with the diseased spirit of our times, visible decay counter-pointing a timeless longing for unspoiled beauty.
