Our oceans are the life force of this planet and climate change is inflicting a heavy toll on them and all that live within. One of the world's most diverse and important ecosystems, coral reefs help millions of animals, including humans, thrive and help protect life in and out of the water. Climate change and the resulting warming waters and acidification is bleaching corals creating a barren skeleton graveyard. What took tens of thousands of years to grow can be decimated in a single season.
My piece “Coralabra” comments on climate change, warming waters and coral bleaching. In essence, we’ve ignited our oceans and set aflame these crucial ecosystems. Alarmed sea creatures come to investigate and help solve the problem, leading the efforts with humans to follow.
