'I Mean, Imagine If We Made It' explores the dichotomy of action/inaction. While many are aware of the challenges we face with our Oceans and Climate, at times we seem to address these issues as urgent only when we experience their impact firsthand.
This artwork draws on my ongoing experiences and conversations in Sydney, Australia over the past years - from the Black Summer fires, to floods in northern New South Wales, we are seeing how climate change is impacting our oceans, sea life and ways of life in more frequent and extreme ways. This phrase can be read from two vantage points - it could be a solemn reflection from a future we would have to endure if we fail to act, or, ideally, as a sense of hopeful possibility we can act on in the present.
