Artist Statement

"The concept and idea for the artwork are inspired from “Moby dick” and "In the Heart of the Sea”, books I admire. I reimagined the concept with my kind of character twist, this hybrid Poseidon kaiju, taking revenge on the greedy who overfish the world's oceans without caution or concern for those who depend on fish stocks in developing nations and for future generations. I believe that storytelling through artwork can be a powerful tool to connect with, inspire, and, educate generations.

As we learn more about climate change, we also need to know more about the services our oceans provide and the exploitation of marine species. Fish stocks are collapsing the world over due to the destructive impact of overfishing. This continues to happen because of irresponsible and greedy companies and governments taking much more than they need. And in some cases, they've overfished their own waters and are now overfishing other countries' waters whom they are exploiting. Imagine an empty ocean...what will happen if there is nothing left for ourselves or the next generation? Greed leads to nothing but downfall and demise."
