The Story behind The End of Ocean Plastics

This artwork features a skeleton symbolizing the harmful effects of microplastics, which originate from discarded plastic waste, on human health, alongside an octopus, known as a symbol of adaptability and flexible thinking in response to environmental changes. Behind a peeling warning sign lies the image of a shark swimming in a pristine ocean—whether this is a vision of the future or a product of someone's imagination depends on the hands willing to change the situation.

Plastic waste discarded in the ocean not only pollutes the water but also breaks down into microplastics, which accumulate in marine organisms and, in turn, negatively impact the health of the people who consume them. We should dispose of our waste responsibly before it becomes someone else's burden.

The composition is inspired by the view of Enoshima, a place I love. This work reflects my hope that we can all work together to transform the future of this beautiful place into one with clean, plastic-free oceans.
