Artist Statement

"Time Traveler" is a painting that developed out of a literal dream I had. In the dream, I'm standing in a doorway facing the endless ocean. Somehow at this moment, I understood time would never be the same if I passed through it. The ocean in this painting also represents a sense of longing and has a restorative aspect. I'm constantly reminded of how much humans and the ocean are connected. The ocean has forever drawn us near and will always be deeply connected. It’s harsh and raw and unforgiving, yet full of beauty and mystery. Because there is such a common thread in most of us that is drawn to the water, my paintings can quickly connect with the viewer. That connection is so satisfying to be a part of. Hopefully, my paintings can remind others of the connection we have to the ocean and its vital importance to our world."

Artist Bio

Adam Hall is an accomplished self-taught contemporary oil painter based in Franklin, TN, known for his emotive and atmospheric paintings. With a professional career spanning almost two decades, Adam's artistic journey began in Nashville, TN, while he was touring the world with various bands. His initial lure to start painting the vast landscape was sparked from his time spent in Rwanda Africa. Each of his paintings have a way of drawing the viewer in and perhaps forcing them to feel as if they were actually there. In his most recent body of work, Adam explores the allure of nature and humanity's relationship with it. The scale of each painting gives off this illusion of a direct doorway right into nature. His goal is to transport the viewer into a moment in time, providing space to reflect amidst a chaotic beautiful world. “Because there is such a common thread in most all of us that is drawn to nature, the paintings can quickly connect to the viewer,” Hall says. “ That positive connection is so satisfying to be a part of.” Hall gets his inspiration from a number of locations, including the Pacific Northwest and Tennessee but it seems his strongest inspiration comes from his childhood surroundings and becoming a father. Today, his work has been represented in galleries all over the United States and has been featured in/on HGTV network, MTV Network, Warner Music Nashville, Architectural Digest, Netflix, American Art Collector Magazine & Fine Art Connoisseur just to name a few. Adam spends most of his time in his studio in Historic Downtown Franklin and continues to discover a fulfilling purpose through art.
