Adopt-A-Shark Fundraiser

Adopt-A-Shark Fundraiser

PangeaSeed Foundation and guest artist Lorien Stern are pleased to announce "Adopt a Shark"  - a very special fundraising project to support PangeaSeed's Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans festival in Cozumel, Mexico July 17-26. The second annual summer festival will feature over 25 renowned contemporary artists from across the globe collaborating to shine a greatly needed spotlight on pressing ocean environmental issues - while helping to educate and inspire individuals and communities to protect the planet's most important ecosystem: the ocean. Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans is the first movement of its kind helping to save our seas via public art and activism (ARTivism).

Lorien has created a total of five one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic artworks currently up for "adoption". Each shark is unique in terms of composition, pattern and conservation status. Featured species include the whale shark, tiger shark, great white shark, oceanic white tip shark and hammerhead shark. Up to 100 million sharks are killed annual for the global trade in shark's fins. - And science estimates global shark populations could become extinct by midcentury if destructive fishing and unregulated consumption continues at the current rate. Support art and activism (ARTivism) to help save our seas.
